CHICAGO

and my favorite picture from the entire trip, I call it, "Two Lovers in the Windy City" : (just click the link cause it's gigganormous....) Click Me
Highlights: -tons of shopping -The Symphony Store is so awesome, it has a bazillion recordings, I could have stayed in there for days. -Saw "The Best of Second City," at a lounge Saturday night, it was awesome, I gotta shirt. -Saw Wicked!!! And Ana Gasteyer was playing Elphaba.... if you don't know who that is by name, google her and I promise you'll know who she is- she's been in a couple movies (like the mom in Mean Girls) and was on SNL for a while).... it was MUY EXCELLENTE! I actually cried at the beginning because I was so excited.... but the last half of it needs some work. They end the first half with Defy Gravity on such a powerful note.... and what's with Elphaba not dying at the end? Hello? Tragedy people! But I loved it. And got a shirt. -cheesecake factory = goooood cheescake -Uh, Chicago, the city of guys.... seriously, the ratio of men to women was like 10:1.... -Went to a book signing thing at Border's- it was the guy who wrote "He's Just Not That Into You" and his wife, on their new book "It's Called a Break up Because it's Broken"... it was more like a comedy act or something, haha, that guy is hilarious. They were dishing out advice and stuff, it was fun. -GO SOX- Ticker Tape parade was SO incredible.... -view from Hancock building.... completely incapable of capturing that with picture, but whatevere, there's some up there anywhere. -didn't go to Navy Pier this time, but H&M is really quite awesome..... -First hotel = Raphael = dump = loved it -Second hotel = Palmer House = palace = loved it.... though felt guilty for indirectly supporting Paris Hilton... Mohammad was awesome! -ZOO ANIMALS! -Art Institute... insatiably inspiring, as always.... -Fine Arts Building = coolest elevators ever, plus the whole "music/art" atmosphere of it is quite delightful... -THE FIRE HYDRANTS WERE SOOOO FREAKING CUUUUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I miss it, I want to go back. Yay Chicago.
however, more importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONATHAN!!!

| Today sucked. Mostly for reasons I care not to put here. was filled with two significant embarrassing moments: 1. Showing up at school crying, which had strong correlation to my really crappy mood. 2. Getting ketchup on my butt.... which for some reason put me in a strangely hyper mood and helped me feel better, though you'd think that being overstressed and tired, getting ketchup on your butt would not be something you'd be too happy about. Oh well. Sometimes embarrassment can be good.
This bed is on fire with passion and love. The neighbors complain of the noises above.... Been listening to the BTE cover of "Laid" over and over... haha, I love this song.
Meh. Everything is unnaturally stressful right now. But hey. Tomorrow's my day of de-stress-ing. Pretty excited about it. Gonna see Suzie's play tomorrow night.... Gov. Inspector will have to wait for next weekend. The concerto Recital is Sunday at Hamline.... lemme know if you're interested, it's not really a huge deal though. I got a bunch of stuff from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in the mail today..... time to start organizing college stuff I spose ...
Still determined to get a Sadie's date. Something tells me I won't though... haha. Casey can't come down that weekend. Le sigh. Maybe I should blow it all off again and chill with the HP nerds..... stupid student council and it's mandatoryness.
I'm gonna work on getting the Chicago pics up here now. Then I'm off to sleep. |

| Haha, I love my school. Open house was actually remotely fun, bonded with a few people. Hung out with Katie after school. I think me and Natalie Murphy are gonna try to get together and play something. Talked to her about colleges and stuff. I'm so unnaturally stressed right now. So freaking tired. I love music. I love piano. I love De. I love you.
This entry didn't come out the way I wanted it to. Chicago stuff in the near future- I PROMISE. I'm excited to write about it and I need to set off a block of time... which isn't looking too possible at the moment.....
and Saturday is Lillie Day. Do not disturb me or call me or pop over at my house. It's my day of de-stress-ing.
BIOLOGY TEST! I. WILL. DOMINATE. YOU. |
